My name is Sydney McIntyre, and I am a sophomore here at the University of North Florida, majoring in Multimedia Journalism with a minor in Business Administration. I am the Entertainment C0-Chairperson for the 2013-2014 academic year. This is a demanding position that I do not take lightly. I am ready to make this year one to mark down in the books as “The Best Ever.” Something I hope to achieve with my position this year is to make sure that the scheduled African American Student Union events are run smoothly and efficiently. Also I, along with everyone else, want to have fun. I am determined to make this year an enjoyable experience for everyone.
My name is Stephanie Armstrong and I am your Public Relations Chairperson. I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and I am a sophomore. My major is Psychology and my minor is Professional Education. I would like to pursue a career as a high school guidance counselor so that I can make a difference in the lives of tomorrow’s youth. My goal for the African American Student Union is to bridge the gap between all of the different cultures on campus and to provide a prosperous environment for students while enlightening and uplifting the African American community.
My name is Shi-Ann Atkins and I am the Public Relations Co-Coordinator. My major is Psychology, I am minoring in Philosophy whilst taking the Pre-Law track. I hope to one day work with lawyers in Forensic/Clinical Psychology to help families and individuals in the court system. With help of my fellow African American Student Union members I want to spread African American History in UNF, as well as, Jacksonville. Utilizing my position Public Relation and keeping up with today’s technology I hope to really make the African American Student Union a positive household name for all the events we will have this 2013-2014 year.
My name is Jantzen Henry and I am a senior at the University of North Florida where my major is psychology with a concentration in Child Psychology. I am the Community Involvement Chair for the African American Student Union. My name is Kyra Auguste I am currently a seventeen year old freshman student at the University of North Florida. After graduating from Stanton College Preparatory I began the summer semester at UNF choosing my major as Criminal Justice. Participating in clubs such as Rasine Kreyol and the African American Student Union, I aspire to be a positive influence in each group over the next four years. Earning the position of Empowerment Chair for the African American Student Union, I will be working alongside other influential members in order to further develop I collaborative and leadership skills.
